Conor Brown: [00:00:00] I'm sure you're a little confused right now. If this podcast showed up in your feed, you might be thinking, I recognize this voice, but this show title isn't familiar. So allow me to reintroduce myself. I'm Conor Brown. I'm a lifelong Disney Parks fan, a former Walt Disney World cast member, and a current travel advisor.
In 2017, I started a blog called WDW Opinion. In 2018, my friend Hank and I started the WDW Opinion podcast. In those early episodes, we shared our passion for the Walt Disney World theme parks. We talked about the history of the parks, we speculated about the future of the parks, and we also got to share our personal experiences going to those parks.
All the while, we hoped our conversations were helping people plan for, but more importantly, daydream about their next perfect Walt Disney World vacation. And we did help a ton of people. There are fellow fans who enjoyed the parks.

[00:01:00] And who are planning their next trip, then the pandemic hit. Life changes.
And in 2021, I actually moved from my home in Maryland to Orlando, where I still live today. It's funny because the podcast and the blog, WDW opinion, that helped me fill a void, a void, a Disney Parks fan has when they live far away from the parks. But then moving here to Orlando and getting to go to the parks, whenever I wanted, kind of filled that void as well.
When I created WDW Opinion, I wanted it to be a place where fans could share their opinions. We could banter back and forth about the opinions, and we could help fill the time in between trips. Outside of myself and Hank, there wasn't a whole lot of opinion sharing, which was fine. That's the way it worked out.
What I did realize was we were helping people plan their trips more than I anticipated. Initially, I thought it was going to be a lot

[00:02:00] of daydreaming, a lot of sharing our personal experiences so that people could live vicariously through us. But, in the end, it ended up being a really helpful planning resource for so many people.
They would take our opinions and they would use it in their own plans when they're planning their own trips. I loved getting to hear that when people would reach out and say, we heard your opinion on this episode, we put it into practice during our trip, we had a great time.
And hearing those stories is kind of why I decided to become a travel agent so that I could help folks plan their trips even more, as I got busy with that, busy with a new lifestyle, living so close to the parks, WDW opinion fell to the side. The podcast became sporadic and I haven't actually published an episode since January of 2023.
Strangely enough, though, I always wanted to keep it going. It just needed to be in a different way.

[00:03:00] It needed to change so that it could feel right for me. Um, it needed to feel right for me, but also it needed to keep me interested. It didn't feel true to myself to continue on the current path WDW opinion was on.
Um, it took me a while to figure out what that new way looked like. Uh, but here we are. A move, a couple job changes, some personal things, and a few years later, we have what that new way looks like. WDW Opinion is out, and Vacation Kingdoms is in. Over the past few years, I've broadened what I love. I spend a lot of time at Universal Orlando and I look forward to what the future holds for that resort as well.
I've been on three Disney cruises in the last two years and Disney Cruise Line has become an absolute favorite for me. And I've gotten to go to Disneyland for the first and second time. And Disneyland might be my new

[00:04:00] favorite park in the world. These new, new for me, destinations are places others have shown increasing interest in as well.
And I've gotten to plan trips for hundreds of people to these destinations too. So this show will still be about Walt Disney World, but I'll pepper in some Universal Orlando, Disney Cruise Line, and Disneyland content here and there too.
Walt Disney World was once called the Vacation Kingdom of the World. Now, there are more Vacation Kingdoms beyond just Disney World that I'm excited to talk about. Because here's what I've learned over the past few years. While I've been helping plan these trips for people, these destinations are awesome.
They're filled with a ton of fun. They're also so freaking complicated. So that's Vacation Kingdom's mission, making complicated trips, uncomplicated. Let's get started.
